Fostering the education of EVERY student at Golden Hill
The Golden Hill Education Foundation and PTA are independent organizations that enjoy a complementary relationship at Golden Hill. Our Foundation is a parent-run 501(c)3 organization dedicated to raising funds for programs and projects that are not supported by tax dollars. Through our “Big 3” fundraising events, we gather contributions from the family and friends of Golden Hill to enhance the educational experience for EVERY student and provide support for EVERY teacher at our school. No pennies on the dollar here, 100% of your fundraising dollars goes directly to GHEF!
- 180 Campaign:
- We won’t ask you to sell wrapping paper, cookie dough, or anything else throughout the year! Instead, we ask that you give directly to GHEF. This allows 100% of the dollars you would spend or ask family members to spend to go directly to the students at Golden Hill. The donations are tax deductible and it’s EASY!
- Fun Run:
- Our Fun Run allows our students to get involved! Students can earn prizes for their fundraising efforts and we host a themed run for the whole school. It gets kids moving, involved and it’s FUN! Many schools outsource their Fun Run and only keep a fraction of the donated money. At Golden Hill, it’s 100% volunteer run and we keep ALL THE MONEY!
- Silent Auction at Goldenchella
- Our Silent Auction takes place at the annual spring festival, GOLDENCHELLA. We source donations from local businesses, corporations, and friends of Golden Hill to auction off in both an in-person and online format. Past items include vacation stays, youth sports registrations, and so much more. Since all of the items are donated, the funds collected from the auction go directly back to the students at Golden Hill.
Each year, the foundation provides funding for:
- Same day FIELD TRIPS and IN-CLASS SEMINARS for every student
- Teacher submitted GRADE LEVEL GRANTS for dynamic and impactful educational programs or ideas, like new 3D printers for 6th grade
- Teacher selected CURRICULUM integrating arts and technology
- All the Arts Foundation's "ARTS LAB" which provides music, dance, and digital arts exposure to every Gator student
- START-UP GRANTS that ensure a successful launch of each classroom’s school year ($250 to each classroom in 26/27)
- Props, costumes, and supplies for all grade level PLAYS & MUSICALS while also maintaining and upgrading our performance venue
- SUPPLIES & EDUCATION MATERIAL that support teachers' lesson plans
The Foundation also funds special projects each year that include technology upgrades, campus restoration, safety improvements, and learning environment enhancements. These projects have included:
- iPad upgrades (2025-2026)
- Choir Risers for the MPR, used for grade level performances (2022-2023)
- Restoration of the Kinder Garden Mural (2018–2019)
- Tech upgrades for the MPR, including new mics and live streaming equipment to make performances accessible to all friends and family members
- Smart TVs in EVERY classroom (2017-2018)
- Restoration of the Reading Garden (2017-2018)
- Installation of the Rhapsody Playground (2017-2018)
