Volunteering Opportunities

Interested in volunteering in your child’s classroom for various roles? Here are the ways you can help Golden Hill and the PTA during the school year!

CLASSROOM-SPECIFIC OPPORTUNITIES
Room Parent

The Room Parent is the main point of contact between the teacher and parents. Duties generally include helping to plan class holiday parties by requesting signups from other parents to bring items and assist in the classroom. Additionally, the Room Parent is responsible for the door decorating tradition kicking off Teacher Appreciation Week in May, and sharing other information. More than one person can share these responsibilities. A Room Parent Coordinator is on the PTA Executive Board and serves to disseminate the information to the individual Room Parents.
Time Commitment: periodically all year.

Goldenchella Rep
Goldenchella is Golden Hill’s signature spring fundraiser and festival and a partnership between the Golden Hill Education Foundation (GHEF) and PTA. Each classroom needs at least one parent volunteer for this position, whose duties include: attending an informational meeting; securing other classroom parents to volunteer to help set up, staff, and take down the event; source a Silent Auction item/basket to donate on behalf of the classroom; and (optional but encouraged) work with the teacher for an collaborative art auction item for the Silent Auction. The event is held in mid-April.
Time Commitment: 2-3 months in the spring.

SCHOOL-WIDE OPPORTUNITIES
The PTA presents many events throughout the year and can always use help setting up, staffing, and tearing down these events, and sharing photos.
